BLWS Announces 2015 Tournament Dates & New Tournament Format

Big League Baseball World Series, a week-long baseball tournament featuring the most talented 16-18-year-old players in the world, is pleased to announce the release of the 2015 tournament dates along with the new modified double elimination tournament format. Celebrating its 15th year in Easley, SC, Big League Baseball World Series will take place July 28 – August 4, 2015.  For more information go to www.bigleagueworldseries.org.


Chef Anne Young to Compete in The Competition Dining Series

See our very own Chef Anne Young from the Starving Artist Cafe in Easley compete. The Competition Dining Series, a single-elimination tournament highlighting the best of the state’s food, agriculture and culinary talent, will pit 14 highly competitive chefs against each other in its upcoming regional tournament in Greenville. For the first time in competition history, the local series will be held in South Carolina. All of the 13 interactive battles will be hosted at Larkin's Sawmill from Aug. 3 through Sept. 7.

Pendleton Historic Foundation announces the Sizzlin’ Summer Beach Bash Concert

Pendleton SC, June 25, 2015:

The Pendleton Historic Foundation announces the 3rd annual Sizzlin’ Summer Beach Bash Concert on the lawn of Woodburn Historic House on June 25th from 6:00-9:00 pm.  The concert is FREE and open to all ages, so bring family and friends, sunscreen, and a lawn chair or blanket. 

 

Be ready to hit the dance floor.  Returning is Dixie Overdrive, playing country, rock, oldies, and dance music.  Visitors will enjoy a display of classic cars from our friends at the Seneca Car Club, and a first floor tour of Woodburn for $2 per person.

The Pickens County Congressional Medal of Honor Dedication Day will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 6 in Liberty’s newly renovated Civic Auditorium located on the campus of the former Liberty Middle School at 314 West Main Street in Liberty.

Following the opening ½ hour program, four separate memorial dedications will be held within the county at 30 minute intervals, allowing for public attendance to all four. Each memorial bears the image of each man and includes a copy of his citation, detailing extraordinary acts of bravery during battle.  Public parking is available at all sites... Pickens Revitalization Association Announces 2015 Main Street Challenge Finalists

Pickens Revitalization Association is excited to announce the finalists for the Main Street Challenge, an entrepreneurial start up competition for the purpose of generating additional retail occupancy in downtown Pickens. At the same time, it provides a means by which local, area, and regional entrepreneurs can advance their desire to expand or open a new business.


City of Easley and City of Pickens Announce Doodle Trail Grand Opening

The City of Easley and the City of Pickens are excited to announce the Grand Opening Celebration for the Doodle Trail, a 7.5 mile rail-to-trail that runs from Easley to Pickens.  The Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Celebration will be held at 10am on Saturday, May 23rd at 514 Fleetwood Drive in Easley, SC.  The celebration will include words from Mayor Owens of Pickens and Mayor Bagwell of Easley, the unveiling of the Doodle Trail logo, a ribbon cutting, and

giveaways.
