Press Release: Pickens County Council Office:

December 2, 2015

"Pickens County Council learned yesterday that County Administrator-designate David McNeill has decided to remain in his current position with Transylvania County Government.

Mr. McNeill cited personal and family considerations for his decision and thanked Pickens County for the opportunity and trust they exhibited in him by offering him the position. He stated that his decision to stay and serve the citizens of Transylvania County was not connected to County Council or Pickens County, and that Pickens County is a great community in which to serve.  McNeill stated that he believed that leadership requires a complete commitment, and he ultimately realized that his family obligations would divide him between Pickens County and Transylvania in a way that was not fair to either. While Council is disappointed with McNeill’s decision, they wish Mr. McNeill well as he continues to be a public servant in his chosen community.

County Council will next meet on Monday, December 7th at 6:30 pm and will consider how to proceed with the Administrator position at that time."
